V 1. kole ME v rallycrossu 2009 skončily ve  finále dvě C4, dvě Fabie a jeden ford a jeden peugeot. Závodu kraloval zkušený Hansen

Kenneth Hansen celebrated Easter with victory in the ERC-opening race!

Kenneth Hansen played all his cards right as the new season off the
European Rallycross Championship took off at Lydden Hill in England.
Kenneth won the A-final after a perfect tactical strategy.
- It was great to win here! Hansen cheers and his team joins him in
celebration.

Hansen was never the fastest during the qualification rounds. He had put
his vision beyond that. Saved his tyres, fine tuned his suspension,
considered who to make the best tactical moves in the Final. Kenneth
managed to take pole position after three second places.

In the A-final Kenneth reacted as a flash as the start light went out and
pulled off in the lead. But, Sverre Isachsen was keen to show that he was
not going to give up that easily. Hansen closed the door and kept the
Norwegian behind. Michael Jernberg went for the joker lap already on the
first lap. Michael was quick and he closed in on Hansen, but a flat tyre
forced Jernberg to retire and he finished sixth.
Sverre was right on the tail of Kenneth. With two laps to go of the final
Hansen, with nerves of steel, gives his lead to Isachsen as he chooses the
joker lap. He rejoined again behind Sverre. Kenneth knows what is Citroen
can do and he push to close up on the leader again.
His tactics was perfect. As Sverre has half a lap left he has to do the
joker section as well and Hansen takes back his lead. Victory!

The Frenchman Jean-Luc Pailler followed the leading duo as a shadow and
finishes third. On a fantastic fourth place came the surprise of the race,
the newcomer Jussi Pinomäki from Finland in a Citroen. Jussi is the reining
Champion in the smaller category, Division 1 A and has taken the step to
Division 1 this year. With a new built Citroen C4 from the Hansen-team he
proves at once what he is made of.
On fifth place came Guttorm Lindefjell.

- It has been a tough winter, Kenneth says. We have built a new car for
Jussi and are working on a new for me. And then the ERC-opener is one month
earlier than usual. But at the moment it is worth everything. For us it is
like two victories. We won and Jussi went to the A-final in his first race.
