Tři milimetry rozhodly sezónu

Doslova tři milimetry rozhodly o našem pódiovém postavení v celkovém hodnocení letošního evropského šampionátu závodních tahačů. Do sobotního hlavního závodu poslední zastávky ve francouzském Le Mans měly po ovládnutí super pole naše trucky startovat z prvních tří pozic. Jenže pak přišla diskvalifikace, když komisaři dva naše tahače naměřili příliš blízko přitlačené trati.

Do závodu tak startovaly z posledních dvou pozic, čímž pro ně pouhé tři milimetry znamenaly konec nadějí na dobré bodové pozice. Hlavní závod vyhrál Vršecký před Nittelem a bronz bral náš Adam Lacko. Na desátém a jedenáctém místě cílem projeli Markusové Bösiger a Oestreich. V odpolední hendikepové jízdě už vyhrál náš Adam Lacko před novým šampionem Jochenem Hahnem a Norbertem Kissem. Bösiger bodoval šestý a Oestreich kvůli prasklé vzduchové hadici závod nedojel.

Three millimeters decides the result of the season. Literally three millimeters decided the final podium positions of the European Truck Racing Championship this year. For Saturday´s main race at the Le Mans circuit in France our three trucks were supposed to start from the first three positions on the grid after a great result in qualifying. What followed was a penalty after the scrutineering officials measured the chassis on our trucks and decided that two of them were too low. This meant that Markus Bösiger and Markus Oestreich would have to start at the back of the field. Just three millimetres saw the end of a very good points result. David Vršecký won the race ahead of Uwe Nittel with our Adam Lacko third. Markus Bösiger and Markus Oestreich finished the race tenth and eleventh. Race 2 was won by Adam Lacko who managed to fight his way to the front after starting sixth, second was Jochen Hahn ahead of Norbert Kiss third. Markus Bösiger took the points for sixth position whilst Oestreich was unable to finish the race due to an air pipe failure.
